“Luke’s Song” – A Chromatic Journey Through Time and Space

I usually use my digital recorder to try and take what they call “upskirt” or “publicly inappropriate” recordings of women on public transportation.

I don’t need photo’s to get off – I get by on the soft ruffling of underwear, the sound of two meaty thighs slapping together as their owner waddles to McDonalds, the faint hiss of a woman passing gas…

What can I say I’m an audiophile…

In other news here’s an original song I wrote aptly entitled “Luke’s Song”

The amount of sweat-slicked “shirts vs. skins” band practice that led up to this is negligible, no, nonexistent.

Stars include:

  • Me: Guitar
  • Greg “CraigBlast” Blass: Keys
  • Mike “Mic” Cutler: Drums
  • Chris “Hey My Name is Renfro” Renfro: Bass

Without further ado, get ready for “Luke’s Song”

I literally have hours and hours of “jams” recorded throughout the last 3 years.  Some of have been great, most have been horrible, and most contain certain verbal references that could literally ruin a presidential bid were the speaker were to run for office.

While numerous Republications have been asking me to announce my candidacy for the 2012 elections, I really think I should wait for 2016.  I still have a lot of stuff to do this year like get my car inspected and go Christmas shopping so I don’t have time for a presidential bid just yet.

The little number below was recorded last month in Rickman Studio’s LLC. It contains the bloated fingers of Greg Blass on the keyboards, the bulging forearms of Mike Cutler on the drum kit, the hairy palms of Rickman on the bongos, and the unibrow of myself (Luke Marchie) on the guitar.

Someone is playing the bass but I can’t figure out who it is.  Either: Adam Gregory, Chris Renfo or “Jim”.  Chime up if you recognize yourself.

This will be a weekly installment in months to come.

“Live Children’s Music Excerpts” with Luke and Pete

In much the same way that Radiohead broke new ground by offering their album “Rainbows” for free,  Pankcakes for Lunch is taking a similar approach and “leaking” 3 excerpts from our most recent live concert.

This isn’t studio stuff people!!

If one listens closely enough, the laughter of babes can be heard in the background.

As I googled for a quote with “laughter of babes” in it I found an excellent selection that sums up our performance:

“To the heathen ear it sounds like rapid fire, guttural, sin-song gibberish.

To the ears of the interpreters,I have been told, that it is the sweetest sound a human could make; think of the laughter of babes mixed with the singing of a thousand children.”

What’s kind of interesting is that quote was actually pulled from a bodybuilding forum where religious folks had been discussing “speaking in tongues” during mass…

But hey it quite nicely applies here doesn’t it?

But onto the music:
