In much the same way that Radiohead broke new ground by offering their album “Rainbows” for free,  Pankcakes for Lunch is taking a similar approach and “leaking” 3 excerpts from our most recent live concert.

This isn’t studio stuff people!!

If one listens closely enough, the laughter of babes can be heard in the background.

As I googled for a quote with “laughter of babes” in it I found an excellent selection that sums up our performance:

“To the heathen ear it sounds like rapid fire, guttural, sin-song gibberish.

To the ears of the interpreters,I have been told, that it is the sweetest sound a human could make; think of the laughter of babes mixed with the singing of a thousand children.”

What’s kind of interesting is that quote was actually pulled from a bodybuilding forum where religious folks had been discussing “speaking in tongues” during mass…

But hey it quite nicely applies here doesn’t it?

Here’s a teaser which I’ve already had screen printed on a rainbow t-shirt:

Some may find it bizarre or even (gasp) inappropriate that two grown men in their mid twenties sit around and serenade a group of babies. Some may say that taking cover photos with an anonymous toddler might be viewed as questionable, but to that, I say that Luke and Pete are actually embracing something that has been lost to many of us “adults.” Playing with babies is FUN.
