The tiny electronic world of an aspiring web developer is often fraught with trouble. You may find those clients who just can’t make up their mind, designers who can’t keep a solid deliverable date, as well as constant personal attacks on my job, lifestyle, and even beliefs.
Take this now “anonymized” response I received after offering a friend of a friend some quick, high-paying design work. Designers are poor right? They’ll do anything right? Nope…not all of them.
Hello Luke,
Thank you for reaching out to me. Unfortunately, I am not interested in taking on this project, mainly because I do not believe in the cause. With all respect to you and your firm, it seems to be more about manipulating people than helping them.
My work this summer is focused on social entrepreneurship, innovation, and social justice. If you happen to know of projects in these fields, I would be happy to discuss working on them.
Can’t win them all…
